"Prod cards" can be used by anyone who wants to see wider use of the E-Verify program, and when you purchase prod cards you provide support for non-profit work.
Prod cards are the size of regular business cards and contain the message,
"I support businesses that respect US immigration law".
The idea is to leave a card wherever or whenever you do business.
You can quietly leave one on a counter where it will be noticed later.
Or you can take a more direct approach.
For example, on your way out of a restaurant, hand the card to the host, or the cashier, or the bartender, saying, "Would you please see to it the manager or owner receives this?"
At a grocery store or hardware store, you hand the card to the check-out clerk and make the same request.
You do the same with the attendant at the gas station, the teller at the bank, the counterperson at the dry cleaners, the video rental store, and so on.
A few of the cards will be thrown away before they reach the owner. A few others will reach the owner but be ignored.
But other prod cards will reach the owners, who will look up the web address printed on the card. There, they will find, if they aren't using E-Verify yet, a quick and easy way to start.
And if they are already using E-Verify, they can order a decal from e-VeriFILE saying so.
